With a former medical background he has a master's degree in Journalism, Social Economy and Public Health. He is also trained in crisis, product communications and digital engagement strategies. During the last 15 years he has concentrated his professional activities on corporate and product communications, strategic consultancy and marketing in the Healthcare arena. More recently, he has also focused on learning and development of digital strategies for the healthcare sector. Pedro has worked for the pharmaceutical sector in companies like Aventis, where he had direct responsibility over the corporate communications strategy dealing with the merging with sanofi. At that time, his team developed an intranet to keep company employees aligned with the needs during the merger and well informed of the process. The intranet received the first prize of the Internal Communications Observatory in Spain. Prior to his current role, Pedro also worked for Pfizer, where he established the consumer marketing strategy for Spain, working with products such as Viagra, Detrusitol or Celebrex. He was able to introduce a different vision on product communications in the Pharmaceutical Industry with clear demonstration of sales contribution through the development of DTC campaigns, a non aggressive commercial communication focused on health to promote prescription products and strategic alliances with patient groups. In his role as Patient Advocacy Manager he contributed to expanded access to products through the creation of bonds of partnership with patient support groups, creating a climate to lobby on common interests. One of the most outstanding achievements was gaining support for the creation of the first Coalition of Chronically Ill People in Spain. At Edelman PR Worldwide, Pedro advised several companies and institutions in areas of product communications, crisis and launching of events, such as the Medical Forum Expo in Barcelona. He has also worked at hospital level in marketing functions, where he designed and promoted new services aimed to supplement the Public Health System offer. As a journalist, he introduced a style of medical divulgation centered on patient needs rather than on disease. He received several prizes for his articles in the Spanish press, among them the Prize for Medical Divulgation of the Catalan Academy of Medical Sciences. Pedro is Spanish-Catalan bilingual with a proficiency degree in English. His global vision of the landscape, together with the diverse knowledge and experience allows him to bring creativity and innovation to his work for Creation Healthcare.
